Rotten and cuddly, just the way I like it...

I'm still able to get a little more sewing done from the bag of fabric I nabbed from my last quilty-meal.... I was very excited to find all of that awesome Riley Blake fabric - didn't expect to find a cuddly little monster inside, but here she is!

At least I will have something to keep me company in between meals now. Its a lonely life being a zombie quilter. I try to make friends, but it never seems to work out. I'm not sure if it's my smell.... eu de rotten flesh isn't really in style these days, or maybe it's something else. Quilters can be a fickle bunch, maybe it's my sewing skills.... quilt snobs suck.

Several of you have asked if there are other zombies near me...  oh yes, the world is FULL of zombies these days! You don't seem convinced.... ok smarty, YOU give me another explanation for Justin Bieber? Some people have the resources and funds to purchase top quality make-up, thats all. I seriously think that has been the deal with Madonna for years.

And what about the quilter universe? Are there other zombie quilters out there? I'm not sure... I haven't ever met one - but I hold out hope. I was looking at Bill Volckening's Facebook page yesterday and I'm thinking.... maybe? Could he be an undead? If not... he would make a good one, maybe I should google his address...

Rotary cutters, seam rippers and.... brains?

I once was like you... an everyday quilter, minding my own business... with stacks of UFO's cluttering up my studio and piles of sacred fabric stash. I can barely remember those days, now they are clouded in a bit of a fog, as all that I can seem to focus on for any length of time is the insatiable hunger for brains.

I think I may have figured out a way to get my quilting life back though. It's worth a shot anyway. I have decided to only eat the brains of quilters, and maybe... just maybe... I will absorb some of the skills and desire for quilting again. If not - oh well, at least it was a filling meal!

I was able to snag a quilter yesterday as a matter of fact. She was coming out of the local quilt shop with a large bag of fabric and a brand new rotary cutter. She wasn't aware of her surroundings, that is for sure! It was pretty easy to trip her and chow down. NOM! Nothing like fresh brains in the morning!

I can easily say that it was a good day! Not only did I eat a gourmet meal (this quilter had just dined on eggs benedict and a sprout soufflé) - but I also scored some killer Riley Blake fabric! Which is even better than I had hoped for, because I have been dying (literally), to participate in the Pat Sloan Mystery Block for 2015! Thanks to my new stash of fabric and the razor sharp rotary cutter, I was able to create my first block! Excuse it's wonkiness, it is a bit hard to sew when your fingers are trying to fall off.

So, I will keep my eyes peeled for my next meal (I am thinking Luke Haynes or Mary Fons might be yummy!)...  keep on stitching and remember.... zombies need love too!
